Corinthian column capital carved in local grey basalt from the ancient roman city of Gadara / modern Umm Qais, Jordan The capital was originally part of a roman building but was later reused for an ecclesiastical building during the byzantine period. This capital shows damage from the collapse of the buildings within the city during the earthquake in 749CE.

The capital is now displayed within the courtyard of the Umm Qais Museum.
